Chiropractic Works Cairns

Chiropractic Works is owned and operated by a very passionate chiropractor. Nathan has a large number of staff that required group shots and portraits. He also wanted to show off his modern new premises.

In the restricted area, the biggest issue with the group shots was to fit all the people in the shot, without distorting people who were at the edges. This was done by using a 50mm lens on a tripod and taking half a dozen shots panorama style, stitching them together in post production.

Photography for St Joseph's School Cairns

Here's a new website that utilises my photography. Late last year I got together with St Joseph's Primary School in Cairns to help illustrate their school. The images you see below cover ideas of relationships, pastoral care, and a welcoming and friendly school. All of which and more are abundantly clear after spending a day there.

Plenty more ideas illustrated in the site.

Celebrating MOC Graduates

Jess and I are passionate about designing communication to promote education. We want to connect with students, families and teachers to motivate more passion in learning.

We also love when people approach us with new ideas. At the start of the year, when Lynne Symons from Mark Oliphant College asked us to design some graphics for the front of the school celebrating last years graduates, we got creative.

Joel from Auxiliary introduced me to Eileen who was requiring some portraits of the doctors at Beaches Family Practice. During the briefing it became apparent to me that the best way to illustrate the doctors was to show them in situ, creating rapport with makeshift patients.

So with some patient and obliging doctors and admin staff we managed to get some shots that help the practice feel approachable.

Joel not only designed and developed the website, but also the logo and Branding... Nice!

When asked about web designers in Adelaide and Cairns there are a number of people I work with and recommend.

As usual, this is a very well developed website by DSPACE, they are awesome at functionality.

I've been visiting MOC 2 or 3 times a year for the last few years, and we've been able to illustrate a vast range of interactions between students, teachers and education. Images below are just a taste.

Helping Longevity and Brandtree Creative start a new brand

Longevity is the new salad and juice bar at Cairns Central. For this job we needed some shots that were fairly uniform and generic for use next to each other within a menu.

Just using a standard white infinite background, the designers were able to get the most flexibility out of the shots. Along with the generic photos for the menu, we shot a couple of hero shots for the designers to use.

OceanBlue Living - Mini Project

This was a fun little project.

OceanBlue Living manufacture metal decorative screens, letter boxes, light boxes etc, etc, etc.

They came to me with an urgent request. We needed a new image which showed off their product for an ad, and it needed to be ready in 2 business days. In the beginning we had no idea what the image was to be about.

After a quick discussion we decided what our target market really wanted to see was the product in situ. However instead of annoying past customers with an urgent request for a photo, we decided better to get some royalty free images and superimpose an image of a product taken in the show room.

Picture
Picture
Step 1. Take a shot of the product, cut it out and clean up any unwanted shadows and highlights.

Picture
Step 2. Insert it into image, create drop shadows to give a bit more depth perception, then grade light and colour across the product so it sits in the location better.

Picture
Step 3. (Optional) Crop so that the image is more about the product, whilst still leaving enough room around the product for context.
