OceanBlue Living - Mini Project

This was a fun little project.

OceanBlue Living manufacture metal decorative screens, letter boxes, light boxes etc, etc, etc.

They came to me with an urgent request. We needed a new image which showed off their product for an ad, and it needed to be ready in 2 business days. In the beginning we had no idea what the image was to be about.

After a quick discussion we decided what our target market really wanted to see was the product in situ. However instead of annoying past customers with an urgent request for a photo, we decided better to get some royalty free images and superimpose an image of a product taken in the show room.

Step 1. Take a shot of the product, cut it out and clean up any unwanted shadows and highlights.

Step 2. Insert it into image, create drop shadows to give a bit more depth perception, then grade light and colour across the product so it sits in the location better.

Step 3. (Optional) Crop so that the image is more about the product, whilst still leaving enough room around the product for context.

I really like white art on brown background. It reminds me of antique furnitures from really old houses. It is really brilliant that someone thought of putting this on a wall. For a moment I thought I was just looking at a computer wall paper. I didn't know it was actually a wall paper. I like this blog. There are a lot of nice things here.
